TS 01

The service, stated exactly

You give us a U.S. mailing address; we print and mail a card carrying a single-use QR code; when the recipient completes the loop, we sign a webhook. Someone completed the mailed QR credential. With binding: none (the default), anyone with the link or a copy can complete it; no account sign-in or email code is required.

With binding email_otp: Someone completed both the mailed QR credential and a code sent to the bound email. This checks control of both credentials, not that the same person originally received the mail.

It attests nothing else. Neither mode attests legal identity or one-human uniqueness. Credentials can be shared or forwarded; completion does not prove residency, exclusive mailbox access, or that a user is not automated. You remain responsible for your own trust decisions; we supply a mailbox-access signal, not a guarantee against fraud or an assessment of creditworthiness.

Accounts and keys

Accounts are opened with a verified email address. Your API keys are yours to guard: the live key debits your balance and prints real mail, so treat it like the checkbook it is. Actions taken with your keys are your actions. Tell us promptly if a key leaks; we will rotate it.

TS 03

Postage, prepaid

Payment is a prepaid dollar balance — the postage model. The ledger we keep is the balance of record; it moves only on Stripe’s confirmation of payment, and every mailpiece debits it at creation. Minimum top-up is $25. Credits never expire.

Postage is non-refundable once a piece is created, with two stated exceptions: a print rejection before mailing is credited in full, and an undeliverable Sealed piece is credited at 50%. Undeliverable Standard pieces are not credited — the undeliverable signal itself is what you paid for. Resending debits full price. An expired, unverified card is not refunded; expiry alone does not establish delivery or explain non-completion.

If we ever terminate your account without cause, we refund your unused balance. If you close your account, ask and we will refund the unused balance then too — Forever stamps outlive the post office counter, but you should not have to sue us for $14.

TS 04

Auto-recharge

Auto-recharge is off until you turn it on. When you enable it in the dashboard, you authorize us to charge your saved card, without further action from you, the recharge amount you chose each time your balance falls below the threshold you chose. Each charge buys prepaid postage on the terms in TS 03.

You can switch auto-recharge off at any time in the dashboard; it prevents new automatic recharges, and there is no subscription to cancel. A payment already submitted may still settle and must be reconciled. Charges appear on your statement as POSTREQUEST.DEV/B. Your saved card can be updated or removed under Dashboard → Billing, which opens Stripe’s billing portal. A declined recharge is reported in the dashboard and by email; it never blocks API calls.

TS 05

Acceptable use

The mail is a federal instrument and other people’s mailboxes are not your billboard. You agree to all of the following:

Consent. You only submit addresses of your own users, in a flow they initiated, where mailing them is lawful and expected. No harassment. We enforce a global guardrail — at most 3 mailpieces to the same address per 7 days, across all customers — and using the service to bomb, intimidate, or locate a person is grounds for immediate termination. No PII smuggling. Do not place personal data in external_id or metadata; those fields are removed on operational purge along with the address. No unlawful use. Including evasion of sanctions, stalking, or interference with the mail itself.

TS 06

Schedules, not guarantees

Stated delivery windows — 5–7 business days for Standard and for Sealed — are schedules estimated from USPS service standards. The Postal Service, weather, and the republic’s general condition control actual transit. We do not pay damages for late mail, and we do not apologize for the wait; the wait is the product.

TS 07

Availability and warranties

The service is provided “as is” and “as available,” without a service-level agreement in this release. To the maximum extent the law allows, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the service will be uninterrupted or error-free, or that any piece of mail will arrive.

We may change rates with 30 days’ notice; because credits are dollars, a rate change never devalues a balance you already hold.

TS 08

Liability

To the maximum extent the law allows, our total liability for any claim arising from the service is capped at the greater of the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim or $100, and neither party is liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, or for lost profits. Fraud losses on your platform are trust decisions you made with signals we supplied; they are yours.

TS 09

Indemnity

You will defend and indemnify us against third-party claims, and the resulting losses and reasonable legal fees, arising from your use of the API, the addresses and email addresses you submit, or your breach of these terms. That includes a claim by a recipient who did not ask to be mailed.

TS 10

Governing law and venue

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Washington, excluding its conflict-of-laws rules. Any dispute arising from them or the service will be heard exclusively in the state or federal courts located in King County, Washington, and both parties consent to that jurisdiction. Either party may still seek an injunction in any court of competent jurisdiction to stop misuse of the service or of its intellectual property.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. The revision in force is the one dated at the top and foot of this page — currently REV. 2026-09-25. Material changes are emailed to customers before they take effect; continued use after the effective date is acceptance.
